On the 10th of October a guest speaker named Marie-Ann from COPE Galway visited the 2C CSPE class. Marie-Ann helped the girls understand some of the issues affecting the lives of people affected by homeless.

COPE Galway is a local organisation that works to support and improve the quality of life for people affected by homelessness, older people and women and children how have experienced domestic violence.

The class also did a fundraiser to help raise money for COPE Galway. They held a movie screening for the First Year students, providing drinks, sweets and popcorn.  The CSPE class had chosen to screen a movie related to the issue of homelessness ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’. All of the class put a lot of work, planning and organisation into their project and they raised over €400 for COPE Galway.
