Sli Nua Careers and The South Mayo GAA Board are  are organising a careers fair for Saturday next January 20th from 11am to 2pm in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris. The event is being organised to provide support for boys and girls and their parents and to help them when considering their College options.

This year there are stands from most of the major Colleges including NUIG, GMIT, IT Sligo, AIT, UL, LKIT, LIT, UCC and DCU. There will also have stands from Colleges of Further Education and other support organisations for young people. The Gardai, Defence Forces, ESB Apprenticeships, AIB and BOI will also be in attendance.

 There will also be a break-out study advice sessions that can be booked on the day. Along with all of this, there will be four speakers on the day:-

Harry McCann – Teenage Entrepreneur – topic ‘The road less travelled’

Sarah Farragher – 4th year Occupational Therapy Student in Aberdeen – topic ‘Studying abroad and coping with dyslexia’

Fiona McHale – Ladies Football All Star and PhD student – topic ‘A healthy mind is a healthy body: good for school days, good for life’

The  keynote address is from Harry Hughes – EY Entrepreneur of the year 2017 – topic ‘Lessons from a life in business’.
