The school has a Choir, an Orchestra, and a Traditional Group, all of which are kept busy throughout the year in preparing for various music events. There is also a Liturgical Choir for Masses, Carol Services and any other liturgical events which take place during the school year. Musical instruments, piano lessons and practice rooms are available to students. Musical students are always highly involved in any shows, plays or special events. They do not have to study Music as a subject to partake in musical activities.

The music department always play a major role in the school productions and last year the music department was involved with two recordings for national radio.

Students at Presentation College, Currylea Tuam will be slicking back their hair, donning leather jackets and stepping back to the 1950’s for their annual school musical.

Auditions took place last May, and since the start of first term much rehearsing and planning has taken place to ensure that all involved on stage, back stage and in the orchestra will be ready to go when the curtain rises on November 21st.
The storyline is a familiar one – Good girl Sandy and Greaser Danny meet over the summer and unexpectedly discover they are now in the same high school. Will they rekindle their relationship?
Principal Neasa Cosgrove said;
“The cast and orchestra are putting in many long hours at lunchtime and after school and are really excited about performing in front of an audience on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The school is extremely lucky to have the talents of staff members, Una O Brien (Musical director), Clodagh Brennan (Choreographer) and Megan Lohan (Chorus mistress), not to mention the incredible talents of students involved”
